Notice the first 4 vertical separators are bigger than the others? These are our Vertical Separator 36″ x 10′ – New Surplus Vessels up for sale.
Built by Tri-State Supply Corp, this 36″ x 10′ vertical separator is engineered to efficiently separate gas, oil, and water in demanding process systems. Its vertical design offers a space-saving footprint—ideal for tight sites or offshore platforms—while delivering high-capacity performance. As a new surplus unit, it’s a smart, cost-effective choice for operations where ASME certification is not required.
What is a Vertical Separator?
A vertical separator is a type of pressure vessel used in oil & gas and process industries to separate fluid mixtures into their component phases—typically gas, oil, and water. The separation process is gravity-driven, aided by internal baffles and mist eliminators.
How it Works
- Inlet Flow:
Fluids enter near the top or midsection of the vessel through a side nozzle. - Primary Separation:
An internal diverter changes the flow direction sharply, causing heavier liquids to fall and lighter gas to rise. - Gravity Separation:
Liquid phases settle at the bottom, where oil and water separate naturally based on density. Internal weirs or baffles may assist. - Mist Elimination:
Gas flows upward through mist eliminators (vane packs or mesh pads), removing any residual liquid before exiting the gas outlet. - Liquid Discharge:
Oil and water are drained through dedicated outlets, typically regulated by level control systems.
Why Choose this Vertical Separator?
- Space Efficient: Saves valuable horizontal space with its upright design.
- Optimized for High Liquid Content: Performs well with streams that have a high liquid-to-gas ratio.
- Ready to Perform: Each unit is hydrotested, internally and externally cleaned, and fully inspected before delivery.
- Non-Code Value: A budget-friendly option for facilities not requiring ASME-certified vessels.
